Blackpool. Poem and pictures by Dave Jones
In Blackpool's streets, a story unfolds,
Where Victorian dreams were once bold.
A seaside gem, by waves embraced,
In grandeur's shadow, it was encased.
The heyday of stars and lights aglow,
Celebrities dazzled in its vibrant show.
Entertainment reigned, a symphony of delight,
In Blackpool's embrace, under the night.
Majestic ballrooms and theaters tall,
Echoes of dancers, their footsteps call.
The laughter of children, the thrill of the ride,
In Blackpool's embrace, all worries aside.
But time, like waves, erodes the shore,
And fame's fleeting gaze, fades evermore.
As shadows lengthen, and echoes fade away,
Blackpool stands silent, in disarray.
