Gawthorpe Hall
A few pictures from my trip to Gawthorpe Hall today. It’s beautiful Grade I listed building and is known for its architectural significance and its connection to the history of the Shuttleworth family who were prominent landowners in the area . The hall is a fabulous example of Elizabethan architecture and I’m a sucker for old buildings!….it was built between 1600 and 1605. Gawthorpe Hall was given to the National Trust in 1970 by Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth, who was a prominent collector and advocate for the preservation of traditional textiles and crafts. The house and its collections are now open to the public if you fancy a trip!.
